Every school pupil in England is to be taught that domestic violence is unacceptable, as part of a new government strategy.
It plans to introduce school lessons from 2011 which will teach young people how to prevent violent relationships.
Plans include a stalking and harassment and 24-hour sexual violence helpline, both to be launched in 2010.
The charity Refuge has welcomed the announcement while urging people to speak out against domestic violence.
About a million women are victims of one domestic violence incident a year, according to the British Crime Survey.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown said violence against women and girls was "an obscenity".

Why is the government launching a campaign to end violence against women and girls in particular?

The difference is that women disproportionately become the victims of crimes because they are women.

The figures on domestic violence demonstrate the point.

The latest Home Office figures suggest that in one year, 106 people were killed by a current or former partner.

But the "overwhelming majority", (oh really?) 72 of them, were women.


Assuming those figures are accurate (and who could trust government figures), that means that 1/3 of murder victims were MALE yet incredibly, they don't count!

When one takes into account that due to men's physical advantage that they are more likely to kill a woman than vice versa during a physical confrontation it becomes even clearer that the domestic violence figures for female aggressors would be much higher than the 33% figure derived from the murder statistics would suggest.

Why don't they make a campaign to tell these women not to date these thugs in the first place? Better yet, do away with the benefits system, so women will have to seek out upstanding men rather than hook up with ones whose 'career' is drunken violence

For a normal, sane person it is self-evident that this is simply a problem of violent people killing their partners. True, men are more likely to kill women (and other men) than the other way around, but also young people, people with ADHD and people with alcohol problems are more likely to kill than old, sober and non-ADHD people. But these are only technical problems, for example young men with ADHD might require different social programs than other groups.

But the thing with Marxist-indoctrinated people is that they will instinctively think everything through the framework of class struggle, resulting in a sick and twisted set of priorities.

The problem is perceived, at least at a subconscious level, as the empowered group (men) oppressing the disempowered group (women). The fact that a minority of women are also killing their partners is not a problem, for exactly the same reason that immigrant violence against the majority is not a problem or that violent leftist guerrillas killing civilians is not a problem (because they're in an overall weaker position and being "oppressed"), and it will be simply ignored or wiped under the carpet in the manner seen here. That is also why atrocities committed by the victim categoty are always "individual cases", while the ones committed by the empowered group are "systematic oppression".

For a Marxist, the first and only priority is to get even. It doesn't matter even if the overall violence will be increased in the process - when the ratio is 50/50, the problem (=class-based oppression) is no more.

Isn't it great to think these kind of people are possessing a cultural hegemony over our societies... :....

Domestic violence and domestic murders are completely different cases with different causes et cetera. I don't think they are even interconnected (some violence may result in murder of course, but that's definitely rare and extreme). There's a difference between stabbing your spouse with a knife cuz you hate him or whatever (which shouldn't be classed as domestic violence at all imo) and beating your wife cuz you're a drunk looser.

And, in case of non-lethal, "casual" domestic violence, women are by far the vast majority of victims. Imagine a man getting beaten by his wife :D. He'd deserve that anyway (for being a whimp).
