FOR hundreds of years it has been the respectful greeting or farewell practised all over the world.

But it seems Britain is waving goodbye to the tradition of shaking hands.

The custom nowadays is to give either a casual wave, an air kiss or even a street-savvy fist bump.

Um what?? nobody has ever tried to greet me with any of those! Still definitely using handshakes in this neck of the woods.

Modern youngsters prefer the touching of clenched fists, a hug or a showbiz-style air kiss.
Looks that this trend of monkey behavior is anywhere.
I usually handshake both on greetings and goodbyes. No "air kisses", used by the female friends here, nor hugs!

...the handshake is a fine conversational tool. Getting rid of it is pure garbage. A handshake lets you know the strength of arm and personality of the other person.
