That's sad
She should have just found guy with a good job to marry, for a girl like here that wouldn't have been a problem

Oh I feel for her, I've also had a very rough time finding a job and there were times that it simply felt hopeless.
Interestingly enough, SoV, one of my friends suggested the same: why don't you get married? What do you need a job for? :p
Unfortunately I am the type of person that doesn't view marriage as an answer to financial problems.

I am sorry for the way she must have felt but I am not sorry for her weak and selfish action. Life is hard, getting a job is essential but there are other alternatives than killing herself.
I just can excuse her by thinking of her as part of a lost generation and the consequence of a suicidal educational and social system. Problems like this will keep coming up to the surface and we will have to wait and see what happens when the "tree" has grown even more... and the ridiculous infants (I am teaching now) are over 30 and let us call them the generation of Prozac, anorexia, suicide, frustration (it's already happening and been like that for some time though), who will be to blame then? I don't know... These relativist swine have intellectually and morally eliminated generations of people, so what can we expect? people fighting for life, and the people they care? No, they don't give a damn.

I was in London for the day earlier this week, and I know Lancashire where Vicky came from is not London, but from the staff on the train down, receptionists at offices I visited, staff in cafes, shops and supermarkets ( I went in WH Smiths, Waitrose, John Lewis, Peter Jones, Cafe Nero, and a range of other independent shops) were all, and I mean all and just to underline the point I mean 100% , staffed by foreign nationals, and not EU nationals either (apart from Cafe Nero where the girl was Italian) and I came across not one British person in these roles, not one.
Yes limited immigration is beneficial, but opening the floodgates to bring in cheap labour is downright irresponsible and tragedies like this would not occur if we had a structured immigration policy. It's too late now in a way , but we can stop it getting worse.
:tsk: the child was trapped in a world not of her making.

She wasn't weak and selfish; she was simply so depressed she felt there was no other way out of her misery. There surely are other alternatives; the problem is, when you are that depressed, you are no longer able to realize this. I don't think you can truly understand depression if you haven't experienced it yourself. I totally understand how she felt. It's too bad she didn't get the help she so desperately needed. She wasn't the first and unfortunately surely not the last. Terribly sad.

Having been through bouts with depression and almost letting myself drive into a bridge abutment one day, I have some empathy for this young woman.
What pulled me out and back on the road were thoughts of how much my wife needs me and that doing such a thing would have made my parents crazy with grief.
Sometimes, all of one's reserves of strength are totally wiped out and the abyss is the only place.
Sometimes, you can realize there is some slender thread, which pulls you back from the brink.

At first I was going to rant about the banking elite.. the corrupt capitalist system etc., etc.
But I am honestly, simply gobsmacked.. she was a young, attractice, intelliget lass with a good education and an obvious drive to be a healthy and productive member of society.
I will keep her in my prayers and trust in God's mercy that she is at peace with Him.

You don't like the British, do you Void?
she was a young, attractice, intelliget lass
Pity. There is a spiritual vacuum left in the society by secularisaton, which no cheap philiosophy, nor media can't fill.

It's actually the Welsh who have the highest suicide rate, not the Brits, as that would seem to include the English, the Mercians and the Sotch.

It’s not just cheap foreign labour people have to compete with it’s university graduates as well, Labours idiot policy of 50% of school leavers going on to university is just a scam to make money, you’re simply not going to have half of all young people entering the job market with degrees walking into careers where they need them, when reality asserts itself they will have to compete with the half who didn’t go to university and immigrant labour (often willing to work longer hours for less) scrubbing out toilets in town centres or stacking shelves.
Young people are being given false expectations about life and in a society where we are increasingly detached from the real world living in some fantasy game show land full of the “beautiful people” who only need to smile and have a decent hair cut to earn a grand; it’s hardly surprising to read cases like this.

Seems sad to me that a native in her own country that she had to compete with third world immigrants for a job at all....
