Estonia to Contribute 800 Million Euros to EU Nations (http://news.err.ee/economy/c636032c-3d65-446a-8880-8dadf896fd84)
Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi said Estonia will participate in 400-billion-euro stability fund to help financially troubled EU member countries.
The current proposal, which needs to be ratified by Parliament, would put Estonia's contribution at 0.18 percent or 800 million euros, Ligi told ERR radio. "It is an expression of solidarity. The Eurozone is backing countries in hardship," he said.
Ireland announced on November 21 that it will be requesting up to 90 billion euros to fix its busted banking sector. The EU and the International Monetary Fund said they would support Ireland.
