What an odd looking guy! I can honestly say that I've never seen a North American Frenchie that looks anything like him. I'd peg him as an Eastern European if you hadn't revealed his identity.

Aemma or Veritas might be able to comment on how typical this dude for a Quebecois....?

I'd say what gives him a bit of an eastern European look is the large distance between the bottom of his nose & the top of his mouth--a very typical 'Slavic' trait (Hors?!)

Anyway, I reckon this guy is a basic Atlantidish/Westish type who just happens to have a high vault and the aforementioned eastern trait.

Chalk it up to old fashioned variability? ;)

Good choice Elfichka. :)

See for me Mario Dumont just looks like your average old stock Québécois: the dark hair, dark eyes, dark complexion. His look is very Québécois/French Canadian imo. I have no idea if he is Old Stock or not though, but he certainly looks "French Canadian" to me especially in that second last photo of him standing in front of the Québec flag.

So I would tend to agree with Dalton....just weird variability. I have cousins who are this dark and are every bit as Northern European as I am. It's just what it is.

Cheers!...Aemma

Mario Dumont looks Atlantid mostly.

He could come from anywhere in Northwestern Europe or Western Europe (Northwestern-Central France).

Agreed with Aemma! Mario Dumont is fairly typical for a french canadian. I would peg him as atlantid/atlantomed.

He actually looks more like an Acadian, which would make some sense because he's actually from Rivière-du-Loup. We joke that those people think they're too good to admit they're Acadian, but they are. :D

Here's some known Acadians who kind of look like him for reference:

Dominic LeBlanc (politician)

Robert Thibault (politician)

Roch Voisine (musician)

The most common phenotypes among Acadians are Atlantid/Atlanto-med, Alpine, and Baskid (which I see in Dumont, actually).

In my observation, Quebecois tend to be more on the Atlantid side with less Baskid elements.

Lol, he doesn't look Slavic at all. And second of all, there is no such thing as ''slavic mouth'' and slavic nose.

It's not Mario Dumont but André Boisclair.

BTW, I classify Mario Dumont like a Atlantid + "Pseudo-Brunn" (mix of Berid and Alpin/Brunn from the west cost France).
