I'm curious what modern heathens do for Yule. I always go visit my vastly more Christian relatives so no heathen celebrating for me.

I do the family stuff. It`s not really Christian since I was raised without any religion at all. :) The other stuff I will do on my own

The other stuff, eh? :icon_wink:

Anyone do any heathen "stuff"?

I plan on swinging by the large Wiccan thing downtown in the trendy part, and yelling that Odin would hate these make believe faggots. Gonna try to buy a pig to slaughter for my yule ham.

I threw one Yule party involving mead and drinking horns, then will emphasize the heathen elements of Christmas as I celebrate it with my kin. Afterwards, there will be a more folkishly heathen event.

I am holding symbel at my house. Much food, drink and gift exchanging. Thunor will get his share of the meat too.

We call Christimas "Natal" (from "Dies Natalis") but nothing heathen in it, just the name.

Same boredom as always, since long ago. It was much funnier when we were kids.

Wish you happy celebrations, anyway, whatever rebirth you celebrate. :thumb001:

Celebrating quietly this year, just the wife and I.

I have a short ritual I do each evening of Yule and then we'll eat dinner.

Been a bit of a hermit again the last couple of months, but things are looking up.

By next Yule I hope to be writing this sort of message from a new home in the northeast part of the US. My wife is job hunting after 14 years of unemployment, as she seems to have finally healed from the trauma she suffered while in the Service. She's had some telephone interviews and one face-to-face in the past couple of weeks, 1 actual job offer (way too much business travel involved), 1 tentative (wanted her, but would not pay to relocate us), and she's only been seriously looking the past 6 weeks.

So, even though we are apart from family and friends, this is the most hopeful Yule we've spent in years.
