Fashions you want to see more

On almost any given forum, there will be several posts about which clothing styles and fashions the forum-goers despise. So, I thought I'd start a thread about the nicer things. Maybe fashions from earlier decades or centuries, or just trends that look good in general and deserve a comeback.

An older Victorian style that should definitely come back in the future is the male overcoat. IMO, a half-long black overcoat with red, green or purple silk on the inside, reaching to your knee, gives a vibe of old-world elegance.

Another style that I like is male scarves. I almost always wear a scarf when I go out at night. A very classical style, it looks good on almost everyone.

I always like the fashions of the 1940s, men and gals. Men's hats like fedoras seem to have went out of vougue for some reason. I like three piece pin stripe suits too even though I rarely wear a suit. For that matter women's hats have disappeared too, at least here in the US. I know they are more popular in places like the UK but why they went away here I don't know.

Fedora hats are another classic fashion that I'd love to see more. However, it seems that nowadays it's only fashion-conscious gay men, hipsters and black men who wear them. It's a very stylish masculine fashion in my eyes, so it's a shame it hasn't caught on more with the average man.

(I own a fedora myself, and, unsurprisingly, it was black man who last complimented me for it.)

Hats for men. It's funny, looking at a photo from 50, 60, 70 years ago or more - Every man, every single one in the photograph wears a hat, now it's completely the other way around. Massive change.

She was incredibly hot in Mad Men. She has the right curves in the right places and is a good example of a woman that isn't skinny like most actresses and looks good.

Fedora hats are a fashion I'd like to see more. They seem, at least to my eyes, to exude an old-fashioned stylishness.

(Nowadays, however, it seems only American blacks can wear them and naturally carry it off. It's sad that this once-widespread fashion has fallen by the roadside in such a way.)
