Orthodoxy is an ethnic faith. If you're not part of an Orthodox tribe, you can't really be part of an Orthodox faith. Since Schaeffer doesn't seem to have married into a tribe he has messed up very badly:

He has read Chrysostom and the other Church Fathers. He knows better than this. But he is knowingly lying and hating on a woman who is trying to do the right thing. He is also appearing on talk shows with Jews. There is no excuse for this. But he is the Greeks' problem. He speaks for their Orthodoxy and not mine, I have nothing to do with this fellow.
Orthodoxy is a living tradition. That means you must live an Orthodox life. There is no "conversion".

I am former Orthodox. I actually agree to what Muslims posted here, Orthodoxy is based on traditions just like Catholicism and has nothing to do with Biblical teachings. Bible strongly condemns alcohol, yet alcohol is rather holy in Orthodox religion. During the Eastern the color eggs and paska are of pagan origin. The infant baptism, confession booth, the sacraments, etc. are all unscirptual heresies. The Orthodox churches are run by Illuminati occults just like the Catholic Church. Both Catholic and Orthodox churches stem from one church founded by Constantine, who didn't even convert to Christianity but only created the church to consolidate his control. Making Christianity official in Roman Empire was the worst thing that happened to Christianity.

Making Christianity the official state religion was also the worst thing that happened to the Roman Empire, and by extension, the world.

There's another of a white retard with his ape wife and pickaninnies, but apparently he was finally embarrassed of himself and the Mormons hid his video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYTuwhW_Inw&lr=1)

One good reason would be that the Eastern Orthodox church is one of the oldest Christian churches. It is surely descended from those early Christian congregations of Ephesians, Corinthians, Thessalonians, etc. to whom Paul wrote all those epistles.
Its only well-documented rival for sheer antiquity, would be the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, founded by two Apostles: Saints Thaddeus and Bartholemew. (The Coptic church MAY be as old.) It could be argued that the doctrines of these ancient churches, being chronologically closer to the source, could be considered purer than those of later sects of Christianity.
This was one of the reasons that a late friend of mine converted from Episcopalian to Greek Orthodox.

I was formerly Anglican, I quickly rejected protestantism in general and understood the concepts of faith and works, venerating icons, Holy Tradition, and the One Visible Church, and could not, when asking myself "what is the Church that was established by Christ?" answer Anglicanism.
Many people dissatisfied with Anglicanism "swim the Tiber", but I viewed Roman Catholicism as simply another Protestant sect; Protestants reject authority of all tradition, and so do RCs -- with the sole exception of Papism.
"By their fruits you will know", says Scripture, and if I compare EO saints with RC saints then I would say EO saints have a greater and deeper understanding of spirituality, devotion, veneration, and sanctity.

The Church you follow was established by Constantine not Jesus.

While this is certainly true, I don't think Protestantism is the answer as it maintains many of the same traditions and dogmas which Catholicism mandates.
Catholicism... just another Protestant sect.
I don't think the RC Church is any less bound up with Tradition than the Orthodox Church, perhaps even more so, as they believe wild stuff like the Assumption of Mary and, while not official, the proposed dogma of Mary Co-redemprix finds a lot of support among high ranking Church officials.

Wrong. The Catholic Church believes in the equal authority of scripture and tradition.
From: http://carm.org/roman-catholicism-bible-and-tradition
The Catholic Church, however, says, "Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God . . ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 97. Note, all citations in this article are from this Catechism).

I am against Protestantism too. Lutheranism for example is Catholicism repackaged in different name. Calvinism is not even Christian as it teaches that weather you will get salvation or not has been decided before you were born. The Anglican and Episcopal Churches are merely branches of Catholicism like Lutheranism. Seventh Day Adventist, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormons shouldn't even be classified as Christians.
So you see I am against Protestantism. Unfortunately anyone who doesn't prescribe to an organized church is instantly labeled as Protestant.

That means you must live an Orthodox life.
Which seems at odds with your animalistic view to sex.

Orthodox Christianity is an assimilation machine, because they are based on teachings closely tied to patron nation.
So for instance many Vlachs, Croats, Albanians...etc who were forced, or willingly chose to take Serbian Ortodox church have become Serbs, or Anatolian people who took Greek variety are now Greeks ...etc
Who ever witnessed ceremony of Orthodox church will know what i am talking about, it is basically like Judaism without exclusivity, and instead with tendencies to expand upon others.

These are actually the only reasons that I don't strongly oppose Orthodoxy. Thank God Greeks were clever enough to save some of their traditions by covering them with Biblical meaning. Heil to the Greeks!

Eastern Orthodoxy maybe nice religion in Serbia and Greece, but in Russia Eastern Orthodoxy is super anti-biblical. Most people in Russia who call them self christians never ever ever readed Bible in their life.
And Russia got one of hightest crime/murder levels in the world - is that Biblical?

I was actually a Christian Orthodox until my teenage, but then I read the Bible (all of it) and I was so much disgusted by the Old Testament that I became an Agnostic with strong tendencies to Atheism.

My mother was that way with Roman Catholicism. The more time goes on and the more I look at what Western Civilization is becoming, the more I warm up to a lot of Old Testament teaching.
