Need help classifying these men, the first two images are brothers born in the late 1700's and both have German heritage directly from the motherland lol, the second photo of the group of men are first cousins of the two brothers in the first two pictures, thanks everyone!

1st picture: alpine
2nd picture: Looks pred.norid+minor CM

From top to bottom, left to right:
Alpine+atlanto-med influence, atlanto-med+dinaric+alpine influence
Atlantid/atlanto-med, old atlantid+noric and pred. atlantid

Is difficult with those pictures though

yes, I know, these are the only pictures I have available of my earliest german ancesors..but it is interesting to see such a variation in the same paternal lineage

You look like your distant grandfather in 2nd picture but more darker pigmentation and atlanto-med component IMO.

thats actually an uncle, but the top two pictures are generally what the males in my family look like, some sort of combination of the two or the men will basically start off looking like what I look like now and morph into the look of the man in the top first picture. odd right?

leisitox, does the man in the 2nd picture look anything like the older man in the group picture, the one in the middle at the bottom, these two would be the closest related besides the man in the 1st picture who is actually the brother of the man you think I look like in the 2nd picture.

The 2nd man looks like the the older man in the group picture, the one in the middle at the bottom, those 2 have noric and looks alike.

And the 1st and 2nd are brothers? strange :D.

yes I know, it seems that the men in my family start out looking much like me or the the man in the 2nd photo and end up all looking closely similar to the man in the 1st picture, can you fill me on the difference between Norid, Noric, and Nordid, please and thank you (:

Norid and Noric refer to the same type - a light pigmented Dinarid, possibly with Nordid influx. They are - unlike the Nordids - brachycephalic and planoccipital.

so am I way off on saying a true Atlanto-Med would look very much like a Noric/Norid?

Have a look at the SNPA - Soceity for Nordish Physical Anthropology.

It's just above the personal taxonomy section here on Apricity Ethnocultural Discussion. You can get a better idea of the different phenotypes and what the people here talk about.

Good luck! It's lots of fun!

Norid is the same as Noric, is a: dinaric+nordid in 50-50%
(brachycephalic(planoccipital) convex nosed, sloping forehead nordid(light pigmented).

Nordid are depigmented(blue-grey-green eyes, blond-red(if counts)-light brown Northern European dolicho-mesocephalic leptomorphs(gracile body), straight nosed, curvoccipitals, hair from straight to wavy

I have visited that site many times, and honestly, it seems like that some of the classifications have many of the same qualities besides 1 or 2 differences here and there, it is all very confusing at the moment O.o

They would be quite different from each other in many aspects.

so then a Norid/Noric could be considered similar to an Atlantid with Dinaric or Alpine influence?

1st Man: Borreby with a Nordid influence.

2nd Man: Norid predominantly, and I would have to say both could fit well in Germany.

Thanks geist, the two men were 2nd Generation Americans, their Paternal and Maternal Grandfathers were both from Germany (Rhineland/Swabia Regions)
