Here you need to work for a period in order to be able to get welfare. It's supposed to be a temporary aid until you get work again.

Is it the same in the US or anyone can get it and just do nothing permanently ?

There are different types of welfare. Most people with a certain income bracket can get food stamps and free health care. These are usually in the form of a card. If you get food stamps you also get free lunches in schools.

Then there's disability, for people who can't work due to a mental or physical impairment.

There is also unemployment, which I believe one can collect if they suddenly lose their job, and they have to prove they're looking for a new job.

Then there are a few smaller, less frequent services, like free pre-paid cell phones for emergencies, and investments in to low income housing (rent scales based on income.)

Some people take advantage of welfare; that's the problem. People sell their food stamps, which are meant for food, to buy drugs. Because they live in government housing, their rent can be 10% of what a normal house/apartment would be, so they have no motivation to find a job. Many minorities have a bunch of kids so they can get more food-stamps every month. A lot of people are even clever enough to get one of their kids diagnosed with a mental illness and put on drugs so they can collect SSI benefits. It is quite disgusting and despicable to be honest. For the people who truly need it, and are only using it as a crutch to get in a better position, it is a good thing. Many people just cheat the system and live off it their entire lives.

In case you did not noticed this site is called "the apricity" which word,apricity,means the warmth of the sun in the winter.Is a nordicist site.
So the site is not called "the jewry".
Maybe not all people asking for welfare have psychical problems,but maybe after 1-2 years of taking wellfare they start to want to work - and they are starting to work - profit.
But the problem is a lot more complex than this,for example muslims are taking welfare,they stay in Sweden,in Norway,in Finland most jews are afraid of muslims so they stays out of Sweden,Norway and Finland - profit.

When did I ever write that I have a problem with the Nordic countries? I am an Icelander with some Scottish and Swedish background.

I'm a critic of the modern northern welfare state; It's lavish spending, liberal structure and the parasitism it has lead to. IMO it should be heavily curtailed. Does that somehow denote that I have problem with the Nordic states as a whole, or just rather some of their particular aspects?

Doesn't sound very Nordicist to me, or perhaps you are confusing it with Nordism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavism)? Moreover, the season of winter also takes place well outside the north.

Btw, I am a Nordicist myself, a Nordic preservationist, from the sane camp. Not the insecure, endomorphic, beta-male basement-dweller who fights bravely for his cause by writing incendiary blog articles about 13-year old muslim youths for loitering outside his favourite shop.

Excesses and abuses within our social security systems are rife. Reform is needed, better supervision, stricter regulations and of course more moderate spending policies. But I agree with you that benefits should be available to those who have contributed to society and are presently registering as unemployed.

Well in Iceland from what I know is some jews who are linked with current bad financial situation of the country.No idea,either prime minister who is now in jail have some links with jews either the president under which this prime minister did what he did had some links with jews.
I think the current welfare system from Norway and Sweden and Finland is fine.
I would like to see in Romania a similar mentality and social system as it is in Norway,Sweden and Finland but you need to educate the population for that first.

I think these right wing views are coming from most of the jewry.48% of US billionaires are jewish,normally they support a right wing state,so they can maintain their power.
If some jews were communists/socialists those gave up about their jewish ancestry / judaic religion,Marx even harshly criticized jews.
