i'm interested in my own heritage..pls can anyone identify using pic?

hello,

this is my first post, and i'm just here to post a pic and find out if anybody can identify what my background could be..??.. I am from the uk.. born in south wales. My mums family has roots in northern wales, england too, and further back i have a great grand parent from scandinavia, one from east europe, but mum says to me that my great great grandfather was jewish also.. he was orphaned.. ? this is such an interesting website.. i was syurprised when i found out that ryan giggs had african roots. Thanks for anybodys help what I will do is post a couple of pics of my face. Thanks. love to all

You've got a rather Atlantid phenotype, which is quite common in Wales (and in Britain).
But you usually can't tell the exact ethnic background of a person just based on pictures ;)
For this you would have to do some research in your family tree.

You Look British and judging by your recent known ancestry, your mainly ethnically Welsh. :) Subrace would be an Atlantid of some sort I guess.

if you put pictures showing various perspectives of your face (side, frontal, etc) it would give us a better perspective on how to 'classify' more appropriately.

From the one pic tho, you do seeem to be somewhere on the atlantid spectrum. :)

The father has nordic roots, yes.. So without doubt i've got my scandinavian heritage in the blood.. but I guess it is possible that I have the 'Atlantid' features including some nordic and some south european/atlantic islands (??) heritage through my mother, who her roots are lesser known.

..I have an odd complexion with skin and hair.. in the sun my hair will bleach to a much lighter shade than usual.. but sometimes when I get it cut its much darker brown (?!?) and when I go sunny places I can get a great tan after a few weeks, but I still burn easily enough.. as all europeans do!

Atlantid seems about right, you kinda remind me of a British version of the old member Falkata, in the recent pictures.

All of the pics were taken during the same year, the top pic is in the summer, the following 2 are from the autumn and by then my tan begins fades away if i've managed to get in the sun!! ..the world in 2012 and it's people.. we are so complex!

Is very hard to trace your ancestry from pictures of your face.
Is much easyer that you take an autosomal DNA test and try to guess after from where those admixtures are coming from.

You look like a Brit to me and as far as a classification is concerned I would say something along the lines of Atlantid with a Keltic influence.

yeah, take a test with 23andme (or ftdna) like everybody and you will know if you really have recent scandinavian ancestry, continental ancestry or, more likely, just plain british ancestry.

I find this feedback quite interesting.. many people keep mentioning 'atlantid'.. the scandinavian influence is obvious as i know there are roots there in my family.. but most other ancestors are unknown.. there was a jewish for sure.. but thats all i know.. thanks for the guess work.. i'll never know unless i did a DNA check .. perhaps someday
