I just thought of something. Although almost everyone here types with perfect grammar(in English), a lot of the people here probably have accents because they don't live in the UK, America, or Australia. So do you have an accent? Describe your accent if you have one.

Natives detect I'm a non-native, but they can never tell where I'm from.

I mostly get Aussie or Scottish/Irish...no wonder...I attended the British Academy.When you combine that with my native language= something else.

I have typical Turkish accent but still understandable
-i can't make famous th sound or I force it too much..(my tongue whistles ..so i dont do it..)
-i have strong r voice (not like Russian accent, but still strong)
-i tend to say -ing with strong ng .. (we dont have soft voices at the end words (b ,c ,d ,g ) they mostly turn p ,ch ,t ,k ..so it sounds like walkink (walking)
-my W sounds more V
my overall pronunciation is away from native

I have an accent but I'm perfectly understandable. And by the way I love the accent, I've never made efforts to imitate the British or American accent at the fullest, that sounds ridiculous most of the times when non-Germanic, non-English speakers try to do it :p

I sound extremely Balkanic, unmistakably Balkanic in fact. If not for Greek one could mistake me for Serbian or Romanian or something like that. But Germanic, no way - even with harsh accents, Germanics always sound closer to the source. :)

When I think and concentrate ,mine is quite neutral,and people can't guess where I'm from.
But when relaxed......and forget about it.....maybe a bit balkanish (but way different that Absinth ) ,more on eastern-euro side
