Light or Darker eyes?

I don't know why but the hair dying and prefer the lighter hair are very wide-spread traditions here too. Every woman want light hair, the blondish-brownish ones, whose have rather light hari, use to dye toward platinum blond. Another idiotic habits the worship of blue eyes among women.

"Az a szép, az a szép, akinek a szeme kék..." say a song about the blue eye, side by side the real blue is rare, we Hungarians have light brown, green and grey eyes.

Here is similar, mot women are at least once in their life had their hair bleeched. We also have lot of light eyes, but pure blue eyes, like Jusia's are rare. But it is not idiotic to love such eyes. They are enchanting :D (Well it is my personal taste, we had discussion about blue eyes this morning)

Light eyes are better imo, but definitely what really counts is the shape.
If you have a beautiful color, but they're -dunno- asymmetric, very small or narrow set, sorry i don't find them beautiful.
Shape and expression are crucial, although i my fav eye color is light blue.

Despite I wish I had the same eye color with my dad(green), I don't have a preference on eye color, when it comes to ladies. Other factors(body shape and other facial features such as nose etc.) determine the beauty imo.

I prefer dark eyes, brown shades. But light eyes are good also. But like another poster said, it depends on context. I like dark eyes best with a light complexion/hair, although they suit dark complexion better. Personally i think light eyes with a dark complexion seem a bit odd. Plus blue eyes are kind of run of the mill here, non hazel brown eyes are less common. Brown eyes + red hair + pale skin is a great combination.

I think eyes can be beautiful regarldess if they are light or dark. I had the bad luck of not having either (Look at my avatar) They look light... In the light. Otherwise, they look like a mid- dull green/grey/brown. So I'm in the middle. :P

I don't have a preference when it comes to eyes. Eyes of all colours can be beautiful. Having said that, obviously if they are a rarer colour, they will be seen as prettier. For example, I think pale green eyes can be very beautiful.

I like bright eyes like these. The colour doesn't matter much: green, grey or blue, as long as they are bright. It mostly occurs among Eastern European people and South Asians I've noticed (the R1a connection? :P). For example the absolute majority of the Dutch people have grey or blue eyes but I rarely see bright eyes like yours among them, but I see them often among Poles.

I must say that your eyes are beautiful, Kazimiera. Together with Jusia you have the most beautiful eyes in the forum.

most light-eyed people have grey eyes here, followed by green and blue. black eyes are considered beautiful, in both men and women here. brown eyes are probably the most boring

black hair is also appreciated. blond hair too. brown hair, as it is most widespread, is probably the most boring here

I've always preferred darker eyes on men, but oddly, lately I've been noticing blue eyes. Blue eyes look fantastic on older men with silver hair.

All eye colors are pretty, though. I married a guy with rare green eyes :) My older daughter's blue eyes might be starting to turn green.

There is a lot more to eyes than just eye color. Eyes are the "door" to one's soul. The eyes I like the most are the "kind" and "wise" eyes, color is not that important to me, their "character" is.
