height varies with the type of work that the model does, if she is top model or photo model and also varies by country. I work with photograph models and Top models and, today, is the minimum requirement is around 1.70 m

Don't you think that is kind of stupid requirement, especially for photo models?
I'm not envious or something, because I've never was in those girly model/fashion things, but I think that a female could look good on any height as long as her body has the right proportions.

I think a strict requirement, but that's what the market demands and who dictates the rules are great Haute-couture designers, because the clothes need to follow a standard and usually fit at that time. Beauty should be a key item, which is not. The market, increasing demand for "exotic beauties". Everything to please all segments. I've worked with many models that I not consider beautiful and the street I see hundreds more beautiful than them, but depending on what the market offers and is their focus.

Besides the enormous resources of makeup, hair products, skin, photographic capabilities that transform a normal-looking person in a "goddess."

So I say, it was time that reference of beauty was being a model , of course most of the models are beautiful, but it is not the main attraction at the time of hire.

Here, I went to the pub with an old school mate. He plays Basketball and is 7 foot tall. The women were all over the guy. I felt invisible next to him, my brother(6foot5) and his pal(6foot5). :D

I really don't think so. Dutch women who are the tallest in the world are on average about 1,72, so i think that in portugal it would be about 1,63-65, like in all mediterranean states. I had a look at Wikipedia statistics just some weeks ago.
