I think it's about time we Christians got our own sub-section at The Apricity. There seems to be a sizeable Christian population here, most Roman Catholic and Reformed Protestant. Why should the pagans get all the fun :p?

I would suggest it being organised as such:

Theology & Philosophy
Sacred Scripture
Christian History
Christian Living (Spirituality, Prayer Requests, Vocations, Family Life etc.)
News & Current affairs as relative to Christianity (Politics, Abortion, Secularism etc.)

This is just a quick run down however, I have been up all night :p! So if anyone is up for contributing, fire away!

Regards,
Eóin.

Looks to me there already is a forum for Christians...

Compare that dinky little corner with the Heathen Portal.

Edit: I think I desire a better organisation of the already existing Christian corner than moving it out on equal footing with the Heathen Portal.

I go for just a Roman Catholic thing ONLY.... (and REAL protestants like Lutherans and the like)
If there are people like adventists (phariseans/Jews in disguise), witness of Jeohva (...) that call themselves Christians, then I am not anything like that :tongue

A Christian Portal could be an interesting place. I have a lot of questions on the subject and Eoin`s setup looks good but I would add a debate department at the bottom of his list for all Christian bashing by atheists and Protestant bashing by Catholics and so on where everyone enters at their one risk. This would keep the rest of the Portal in better shape.

Good idea, another dozen or half dozen sub-forums! One step closer to being like Skadi: where simply reading the front page is a task as daunting as climbing the highest mountain.

Well as true as that is :D, I still think that a Christian Portal merits serious consideration. There are some good debates between Christians that tend to get lost amongst the ruins.

I'm surely not advocating a Skadi type of forum page, BUT I do believe that a home for European indigenous and European Christian spiritual traditions is not too much to ask. I can only see it as sparking more interesting discussions and offering some balance to this forum.

Yep I'm still a Heathen in case you're all wondering and before I get lambasted for supporting such by my own. But I can still appreciate the value of other European spiritual traditions having a place of their own here too.

I do not see the value in aiding their sectarianism with a multitude of sub-forums, portal or not; I think the Heathenry section is pointlessly fragmented, considering it has amassed less threads than the whole of the broader "Religion & Spirituality" category.

Why not merge into a Religion & Spirituality Portal? Sub-forums for broad Heathenry, Christianity, Skepticism and Non-European Religions?

Well that too might work. :) It has a lot of merit as an idea as well and would make the most sense if balance as a forum value is sought in the end.

Though if this is a forum for European preservation, isn't it balanced enough that Christians (which is still the most widespread and culturally significant religion in Europe) have their own section which is equally as if not slightly more elaborate than things like heathenry, which is supported by maybe 0,0001% of all Europeans?

I fully agree.

The order don't really affect the result :p

Subforums have been created here (http://www.theapricity.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=108) as per your original suggestion. When are they going to be used? Forums that are not utilized won't remain standing for long, they'll just be deleted.
