I do belive a few have, i know one that has a Syrian ancestor, he came to Bosnia during the ottoman empire and that is how his lineage started, and if my memory serves we right i do think a have one bosnian at work that also has some middle eastern ancestor. But bosnians as hole dont have it,
No, they don't have any. On the other hand there are some in Syria/Levante with ancestry from Bosnia who came during Ottoman era.
It depends, really, on what National Geographic is interpreting as "Arab". Bosniaks, like all Balkan and Southern Euro people, have elevated MENA compared to Northern/Western Euros. So NatGeo may interpret that (as well as S Euro or Med) as Arab.
Someone tell Angry Foreigner to upload his data to Gedmatch. We'll see if he has anything unusual.
Maybe he has some elevated Natufian ancestry which can pop up as 'Arab' ancestry.
I don't think Bosniaks have significant Arab ancestry. They might have Turkish ancestry but I have been told that it is not significant at all. Nevertheless Bosniaks are honorary Turkish according to most Turks and Bosniaks themselves.
Not really. The NatGeo is not really a good test. I believe they might have more Turkish ancestry. There are certain Christian European groups that actually have Arab ancestry more so than Bosnians. The Natgeo is not a good test because it overestimated the Arabian admixture in Iranians, and it underestimated it in North Africans. If he did 23andme it would have been better. Arabs/Arabians did not settle the Balkan areas.
no they don't
