I think Talvi knows the best what I mean. At the same time I completely understand her snapping at you after you hinted Estonians being somehow "low" compared to yourself.
Considering islam: I do not mean to insult you or any of your parents personally, but all the three Middle-Eastern born religions (judaism, christianity, islam) are too weird for me personally and I consider them alien for Estonians - a nation that fought a long bloody war against crusaders and was brutally enslaved by them for centuries.
Your mother chose her way in religion - and that's it. Don't expect any Estonian to approve it, don't push it, it's just too strange for most of us (and the very few people in Estonia who actually seem to understand the whole point of judeo-christianic-islamic religious conversion are mostly Lutheran christians).
If you want to learn more about your Estonian half and are more interested to be accepted among Estonians, then in my opinion you should focus more on linguistic studies (Estonian) and less on underlining your religious beliefs and your mother's conversion.
She is a muslim, and speaks chechen, has a chechen name , wears some chechenian clothes and talks a lot about the caucaus some weird ichkeria and other weird stuff. The only Estonian thing about her life is her mother,
I dont see how a Turkish bf makes me un-Estonian.
Sorry but a man does not define how Estonian or un-Estonian I am.
What? I never said this
This is what I said before:
Obviously I never said anything against Estonians, and obviously there is no shame from me of my Estonian heritage! In fact, I said to Talvi I wish I was closer with it!Quote:
Talvi, I love those clothes!
I think many people here have forgotten, that I'm Estonian!
Estonian men are actually really quite attractive. I would never marry one, but they are handsome people. One of my mother's relatives could be a model easily.
Anyways, the thread is not about me, it's about what Estonian people look like... and I said they are attactive.
@Groznenka:
You said you would never marry an Estonian. You didn't insult any Estonian men by it (it's not by far our priority to marry a muslim and/or Chechen woman), but in a way such an exclusion showed your attitude as to an "unworthy" group of people.
@Talvi:
I just think it's quite hypocritic to critisize a lady born from the union of a man from a nation of islamic background and an Estonian woman, while you are yourself in an intimate relationship with a man from a country with an islamic background.
P.S.
It's hard to have cyberwar with one woman, but it looks like I've pissed off two at the same time... I'll shut up for today. ;)
Yeah, I'm the troll. :rolleyes: Basing your opinion by one single Finnish internet scientist and completely ignoring the facts that are written in history books and taught in schools is definitely not trollish at all.
