Canadians in general don't like them. Especially in Western Canada they tend to have high rates of crimes. As well they are into the Drug and gang culture. They are often are welfare recipients and often are homeless who ask passersby for measly change. There is also high domestic and child abuse among them. The tensions between them and the general society is quite strong and aberrant. There is no romantic elements toward them. Most people would not prefer to have them as their neighbours.
However in the U.S there is a quite stark difference in the viewpoint toward the Native Americans, and it's based on romantic elements, as well there are very few Native Americans left due to various policies that were under taken.
We hate them, thats how we feel about them. They cause massive crime, don't pay taxes, live like animals, complain constantly, in fact just a week ago the bloody red cross was sent into a native community to help them, this is of course after they were given 90 MILLION dollars to improve their community.
They are worthless mongrels and should be killed off systematically.
In the united states its different. Every 'white' person down here likes to claim some native ancestry.
I can't really find too much to say about them. I'm not the biggest fan of their traditions, clothes, cultures, etc... However, I do admire the Aztec, Mayan, Incan Empires. But I assume by North American you meant America/Canada.
They are really cool, and they have amazing culture and history.
the only "native americans" i have met though, where mestizos from various countries in south america so they had latin culture, and they where cool as well and their women are hot for sure.
So ive never met a pure native american with their original traditions, would love to do it though.
Well here they are only about 1% of the population so most people may never actually meet an Indian in person. But like zack said a lot of white Americans will claim that they have a Cherokee princess for an ancestor.
