I visited Macedonia in 1977. taking the train from Skopje to Bitola early one summer morning. The train left Skopje when the sky was still dark, and when we got to around half way to Bitola the first rays of light appeared and a light fog covered the lush green landscape. I looked out from the window to my right, and in the distance I saw six or so Macedonian women working the fields, dressed in their colourful native dress, exactly like some of the ones in the photos in this thread. I though I had been transported back in time. It was an image of sublime beauty that I shall never forget.

Hello, does anyone know which regions have these skirts for the male dress, and which don't? Is the division north-south, or are they seen on the whole territory?
