Other than Operation Catapult (which was conducted against the demobilized French navy) the Brits didn't conduct any succesful offensive operation on their own.
They only managed to not lose.
Torch had the hand of the Americans, just like the invasion of Sicily and South Italy or Normandy. This without mentioning all the convoys that were sent across the Atlantic to relieve them.
I think a good armed force besides the Wehrmacht was the British Army. I don't know too much about it, but Finns also fought very well in the Winter War.
Armies who were lacking modern equipment and/or military training but who fought bravely were probably countries like Greece or Poland.
Russians were also very hardy fighters, but their leadership and tactics was terrible for a great part of the war.
But apart from that: The German Wehrmacht with it's excellent officer corps (just to mention Auftragstaktik) and tactics (Blitzkrieg) together with well trained and able soldiers and good equipment have no rival.
lol.

All they had was an endless supply of free American weapons and expendable Russian men. And even that wasn't enough to beat tiny Finland. About as embarrassing as Italy needing bailing out to beat Greece.
^^ Just a quick thing, the American supplies were mostly related to food and vehicles, not weapons.
