Chatbox conduct -- please read

The chatbox is to be viewed as an escape from the usually high-brow posting areas on the forum. As a consequence, members sometimes get onto it to have fun and be playful. It is to be expected that chatbox contributions could be of a low-brow nature at times.

By using the chatbox, you agree not to take it too seriously ... and to be in the presence of members you would not normally sit around a fire with. It is open. If chatting intimately with close friends in a safe environment is what you are after, then I will suggest you use MSN or Yahoo messenger instead. If you are of a sensitive disposition -- DO NOT USE THE CHATBOX - IT CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR EMOTIONAL WELLBEING.

Please do not come to the administration the next day and tell us to ban members because of a chatbox fight -- that is not going to happen. We will of course review each case individually if there is a serious complaint. But as a rule of thumb, if you give it out, you should be able to take it as well on the chatbox. It's not a boxing ring, but it is also not for overly sensitive people. If the chatbox upsets and offends you, please refrain from using it, and minimize it on the forumhome so it is not visible.

General rules of common sense still apply in the chatbox: No pornography, sexual harassment or image linking tag usage will be tolerated. If found that you are flouting these regulations, it can result in a chatbox ban, or even a forum ban -- depending on the severity of the offense.
