One was very popular in previous decades, but never was considerd as smt. like "Czech national cap" or something like a Czech pride - rather reverse.
In Czech commedies and scetches is used as a cap of Czech village "rednecks".

The name is originated from term zmije - European viper, because its zig-zag line.
The cap was originaly produced by FEZKO factory at Strakonice, the factory was swallowed by another Czech hat company, named TONAK from Nový Jičín.
Nevertheless, zmijovka is produced at Strakonice, until today.
