Jack Ma:'If trade stops, war starts'

MELBOURNE — Chinese tech billionaire Jack Ma made headlines last month for visiting Donald Trump and announcing his company Alibaba would help create one million jobs for the United States.

On Saturday in Australia, he warned in no uncertain terms that a retreat from globalisation would only result in trouble.

“If trade stops, war starts,” said Ma, in Melbourne to launch Alibaba’s Australia and New Zealand headquarters.

“We have to actively prove that trade helps people to communicate. And we should have fair trade, transparent trade, inclusive trade.”

Ma said that a globalised economy was more than just transactions of money and goods.

“Trade is about trade of values. Trade of culture,” he said, adding that he felt a personal responsibility to fly more than 100,000km in the past month to promote global commerce.

Ma said that he had “a wonderful discussion” with Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull on Friday to discuss the possibility of Alibaba collaborating with the government to create a regional “e-hub” — a trade zone that would allow for freer online commerce with less border bureaucracy to deal with.

“Most of the free trade zones in the past 20 years are designed for big companies,” he said.

“If Australia, New Zealand and other countries can create a free trade zone in the form of an e-hub for small businesses, they can work like the big companies – with 24 hours clearance, better tariffs and quicker [border] inspections. That could help a lot of small businesses.”

Although Turnbull was slated to attend, he was absent at the Melbourne launch and was represented by the federal innovation minister Arthur Sinodinos. Among the 350-strong crowd of business and political leaders at the event were Victorian premier Daniel Andrews and New Zealand economic development minister Simon Bridges.

I have a lot of respect for Jack Ma I like his e-business platform, he is the ONLY chinese business man I like. Today what he says in Melbourne is out of his qualification even as one of the top business cronies of CCP. The statement of warned war is brutally out of his line as whatever he meant, an indirect innuendo to Trump or a political manifesto to be spoken under governmentorder. But hey, Jack, China is the biggest business subsidizer in the world. Your whole dirty savage cheap competitiveness is back up by billions of cheap labors and neglect of environmental responsibilities. This is a cheap, ungrateful, insidiously malicious threat in a beastly way. To deal with this kind of people will become a painful experience for americans without enough allies.

It is why USA must not piss up your allies, of whatever economic and racial background. When you piss on Mexico, communist ape will spit on your face, wake up Trump.(Still in naive mode disbelieveing Trump being a communist agent)

The west need to publish something like a peer-reviewed study to systematically, statistically give and analyse all datas about chinese subsidies,non-tariff trade barriers, quotas etc to see how their bahavior hurted the world economy. Many chinese web users cheered when EU, Japan, USA refused to recognize China as a Market economy last year when it was due to give China this status according to the WTO entry treaty signed in 2001. The world need to whip China for unchecked government behavior, we people can do nothing to criticize it, we are gagged and folded. You west must do the job ! Thanks.

Subsidies come from our tax money, often go to private pocket of govt cronies at the same they con your money, they keep digging up here and there, leaving smog and spillages, manipulating atmosphere, they are Goddamn CRAZY, SAVAGE !!!
