Jerusalem is christian jewish and muslim
Obvious choices are obvious:1) Western Latins and Germans under the Papacy(although I'm not a Papal supporter myself,at all);
2)A coalition of Eastern Orthodox churches;
3)A coalition of Catholics and Orthodox.
EDIT: I voted for the options that are acceptable to me.
I say it's Christian only. It's hour holy city.
Sure, it's a holy city for the Jews too, but...
Muslims? What does Islam have to do with Jerusalem? Islam originated in the Arabian Peninsula, and Jerusalem is in the Levant. Prophet Muhammad never even visited Jerusalem in his lifetime. So, Muslims butt out.
None of those.
Cuban ruled.(if i had to pick..)
This only shows you "knowledge".Prophet did visit Jerusalem and it was there he had his "holy pilgrimage" according to islam, that's why the Al Aqsa mosque is holy..muslims also turned to Jerusalem not Mecca in the beginning
so it is holy for 3 monotheist religions

Nowadays it wouldn't make any difference. But in the old days, if it became christian, it should be ruled from the Vatican of course.
I care more about Constantinople than Jerusalem
Independent Kingdom ruled by House Savoy and with latin as official language.
Turks in Hagia Irene, the oldest church in Constantinople basically turned into a whore house by Turkish Muslims that have a lot of respect, obviously, for the European cultures they stole from:

i would prefer the local christians to rule it,or at least orthodox since they feel much closer there :S
Not a Christian, but here's my two cents on this topic:
Same here. I really couldn't care less about this Middle-Eastern city and the whole Christian religion, to be honest. As an atheist North European with a dislike for mass religions, Jerusalem means fuck all to me. If we nuked it, we could kill both Yahweh and Allah. I just do not care about it.
Constantinople, on the other hand, was the old capital of the East Roman Empire and an European city. Retaking that city for Europe would be much more important, IMO (although the chance of this happening is less than zero). In a fair world, it would still be called Constantinople and belong to Greece, and the Turks pushed back into Anatolia where they belong.
How about this instead?
The United Kingdom of (Greater) Hungary, Croatia and Jerusalem

Jerusalem should be transformed in a supranational entity under the rule of United Nations, in this way christians, muslims and jews haven't excuses to claim the sovereignty of Jerusalem.
Everyone belongs where they are. History means JACK SHIT. It's strength and victory that decides things.
Middle Eastern Christians from the Levant.

theoretically thats what Jeruslaem is but when did the whining cunts respected any law !?
I voted for the first option, Jerusalem should have been kept as a religious fortress secured by a christian military order, and it should be a monastic self-governed place like Mount Athos.
But History has proven it should rather have been raised to the ground. No more promise land, no more holy wars. Like Saladin himself says in the film: "I wonder if it had not been better".
I was merely making a speculation. Never said that I wanted to nuke Jerusalem, I just wouldn't care too much if it happened to a Middle-Eastern holy city. I am quite aware of world politics, thank you very much.
I know you Semites are famous for taking everything too literally and being incapable of irony. Maybe that's why the Middle-East is a terminal shithole with endless wars...
Jerusalem will never be returned to the Christians. Heck the large majority of Evangelical Protestant Christians would like Israel in control of it, and they would love the rebuilding of the Holy Temple Mount, in which they would usher the coming of Christ. The Christians have lost their political power for the most part, except in the U.S where they also lobby for Israel like the group by John Hagee called Christians for Israel. In other words a Jewish Jerusalem is the same as a Christian Jerusalem!
All I've got to say is put your money where your mouth is and go get it. Otherwise what's the point. It's not like any of us has the political power to do it. So why debate something that will never happen?
You were making speculation and I informed you of the possible consequences. The fact is, no one would think of nuking Jerusalem, not the West nor the East, as it's sacred to both. If either side did nuke it, the world would be sprung into chaos. Jerusalem is politically more important than Paris, Madrid, Tokyo or New York (cities several times larger).
Please lord, this boy needs Jesus. Heal this child and help us destroy these demons.Quote:

Since this is a hypothetical exercise in futility, if I had to pick, it would be cool for an independent Orthodox Church to take it over, say, the Armenian Church (friends of the Kurdish Yezidis, and oldest national Church), or the Copts. I voted also for the native Palestinian Christians. It will never happen though, none of these groups have enough political power. Jerusalem will always either be in the hands of the Jews, or supposing Israel gets pushed into the Red Sea, the Hammies.
All in all, people take that swimming pool way too seriously. It will probably end up playing a role in the end of us all, and there won't be any rapture. The world gone to Hell for a folktale. :(
That is True, modern day Turkey should be divided between Greece and Armenia. The presence of Armenian Civilization is not far to the east of the Greek settlements, in Asia Minor. During the Middle Ages, the Armenians formed an alliance with the Crusaders.
I would suggest the restauration of the ancient crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, under the direct or indirect heirs of the House of Anjou (the third and greater Royal House which rules on the Kingdom). The Kingdom should be defended by the European States.
Unfortunately, this is only a dream. But sometimes dreams can become... reality.
I chose British Mandate of Palestine just because Sir Edmund Allenby kicked arse.
Indepepdent Western-style state
Really difficult to say, because I can't even imagine that it can come true. Anyway, Armenians, Greeks and Catholics all have possessions there, so it wouldn't be fair to give the control just to one of them. Perhaps an independent style state with a council of different representatives at the head.
With the possible exception of the French and British it's hard to see any of the listees being able to hold the place, and that is very shaky. Moreover, atheistic Europeans would have no interest in doing so. I could envision a restored Christendom, led by the US, taking both Jerusalem and Constantinople though. Who would administer the places is a question to be worked out, but they'd need American military support.
In a perfect situation, firm Europeans of all countries would unite under the flag of Freedom, Western Civilization and Christianity again, in a new crusade covered by modern means for freedom and security of our Occidental world, and re-gain Constantineopel from the Muslim terror! Then Jerusalem as the holy town of our Catholic faith needed to be freed from its Islamic occupants. Only Christians and Jews have a right to rule the town in a shared system of balance. :) Islam belongs to Mekka and Medina where the barbarian desert cult stems from.
When Vienna was on the brink of Muslim victory, Christian kingdoms and duchies from all over Europe formed the 'Holy League' to put aside their petty differences and to form a clenched hand to wipe the Ottoman threat from the face of our beloved continent. We are in need of a new version of the 'Holy League'.
The rule of Jerusalem should be guaranteed by a shared system of balance of power between Jews and Catholics, with the Papal State and the Holy Father as the highest authority on the Catholic side.
It should obviously be ruled by the Order of the Hospitallers (or Knights of Malta).
It would be divided into 8 districts, the 8 Langues that were given a chapel in Malta:

- PROVENCE
- AUVERGNE
- FRANCE
- ARAGON-NAVARRE
- CASTILE AND LEON
- ITALY
- ENGLAND-SCOTLAND-IRELAND
- GERMANY
A Holy Prince chosen from one of those 8 langues, and one flag to rule them all:

I voted for Spanish/Portuguese colony because the current King of Spain is a claimant to the throne of Jerusalem, he even includes King of Jerusalem in his official title so there is the historical precedent, plus the Spanish seem to still have a strong Christian and national identity compared the rest of Europe.
