Venezia IS one of the jewel of Italy

Its a city built on the water.....forgive me....I am Northern euro and love the city. Such a contraption has always fascinated me. Italy is so regional....hahaha. My step mother is from the South/well south central.
My step mother is Tuscan and Southern Italian. Tuscany is popular here to Americans I know this because they all talk about it [those who visit there]....very old streets, architecture, nice landscape etc.. I have seen pictures of it. Looks pretty cool.
Partly true, certain phenotypes are pan-Italian enough to be found almost everywhere, personally in the coastal Veneto I noticed many phenotypes similar to those of my area of origin (Gargano, north east Puglia) the majority of people would have passed very quietly, it's probably due to a sort of common "Adriatic" aspect, I honestly don't know
The best looking people in the continent :)
From my quite dilluted and adapted experience of "Northern Italian-ness" we are a lot more Italian than anything, most tries to link us closely to Germans and Austrians are exaggerations from dishonest types who try to darkwash everyone under the Po River.
I believe a lot of the confusion stems from the fact that the Southern Italian archeype spreaded out a lot more. The personality, the lifestyle, the looks, and especially the food.
Even to myself it felt weird as a kid that I was Italian, but grandma never made me Pizza, Spaghetti or Cannoli, that we were not as passionate, dramatic and sensitive as people said. We were just a bit less xD
I admire our hard work and ambition. I dislike the fact that we on average have the reflective thoughts of a monkey and no sense for art and beauty.
They're Italian just like Southerners but with their own idiosyncrasies that also vary inside the region itself, as has been mentioned here.
Just ordinary Italians.
