I've never heard anyone speak like that so I would say that hasn't caught on here. I'd find it strange if I heard anyone talk like they were from "the hood". :)

Yes definitely. There aren't many Americans here. Plenty of Poms, Kiwis, Saffas, Paddies, Southern Europeans and various Asians but hardly no Yanks.
To my ears that's what I pick up as a non-American. I think you have a lovely accent.
