People who read way too much into other people's answers on hypothetical scenarios on this forum. "Get a fucking life!" and "Get the fuck over yourselves!" is all I have to say.

The following doesn't "grind my gears", it just annoys me. Actually, I don't think "annoy" is correct either, I just don't think positively of it.
When people create internet persona's.
It reminds me of the "hipsters" that live in my area. They create "characters" for themselves. They have an idea of what they want to look like and modify themselves to be that character. An acknowledgement that they believed their regular/prior state was insufficient. In that case, it's almost always about attention. We all do need attention.
Internet persona's are worse actually. At least the "hipsters" and teenage "Goths" live out their character day-by-day. Whereas an internet persona is worn for a brief time only and then shed when their consciousness shifts away from whatever virtual context it was created for. Internet persona's are deception. They are false, and I don't like false.
So, what are some motives for someone inventing an alternate persona for themself?
1. A level of respect they believe would be corrupted if they deviated from their "persona".
Okay, I gave one motive. Anyone want to add to it?
Note: I haven't even sequenced through the dialectic process on these thoughts yet so I could be all wrong about it, but hey, it's 9:40 am, I'm lazy right now.

My goal in life is to understand the world I live in. Philosophy alone is no good unless it is anchored to reality. To do that requires an understanding of science (space) and history (time). Philosophy+science+history=The complete epistemological package.

I hate Book Covers. They are burdensome, always sliding off-center in some way. Originally designed to protect a Books exterior, but in time, they themselves became objects of preservation and considerably more fragile then the Book itself. So since it has become part of the Book and not just some expendable cover, it's now more difficult to preserve a books condition. Book Covers have become not only obsolete, but disadvantageous. They should be cast into Hell for all Eternity.
