Why are Germanic and Slavic people taller than French and other Latin people?

Generally Germans, Scandinavians, English, YugoSlavs, CzechoSlovaks and Russians have more height than the other group which would include French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Romanian.

Yugoslavs being tall is just a myth created online. There are tons of Balkan immigrants here and they are considerably shorter than the Swedes, on average.

Yours is just a personal observation. Studies usually say people from the Dinaric Alps/western Balkans are tall. On the other hand, I don't think the English or Russians are particularly tall.

No serious studies.

Dutch maybe the tallest and Scandos closesly following but most European people average around 1.80. Balkanites here are not tall on average.

I am 5'9" . Its not often I come across a Anglo-Canadian who towers over me. On average most are under 6 ft imo.

I would have said nutrition plays a huge role in determining the persons height, but that does not explain why the East Africans are soo tall either. (Much taller than middle easterners, and southern Euros for example)

You realize personal observation is flawed, right? What you say may be true but it would have to be supported by tangible evidence collected by multiple sources. That SOME Yugoslavs, Montenegros, I believe, are exceptionally tall compared to other Europeans isn't something someone made up on the internet. However, I don't remember how old that information is or if it is backed by other info. Much has changed over time regarding height. Dutch were very short around the 16th century and are one of the tallest Europeans; obviously standard of living allows a group to meet or not their full potential in all things.
