Why are Germanic and Slavic people taller than French and other Latin people?

I'm very sorry but I saw more taller people in Montenegro around the boarder of Albania, and the Northern part of Montenegro, then the more inlands of Montengro.. Except that when you enter Albanja especially around Kukes people are short there.. Albanians in here are going to be angry with me for saying this...

I said that i don't want to enter in any discussion. being tallest is not really some sign of superiority. I would personally liked more that we are short with living standard as in Norway than tall and living in corrupted society.
btw, since you mentioned personal observation, I have been to Denmark and I thought that most of the Danes are shorter than me (183cm) but that is probably not true.

People form the Balkans are suppose to be tall due to Dinarization. This according to reports from Anthropologists. I have obviously never been to Eastern Europe. I will say this though, in the NBA most of the Eastern Euros play are centers and are lanky as fuck.

That's just a myth.. It not entirely due to that.. But rather diet... People who have more Dairy intakes tend to be taller.. The reason why Yugoslavs and North Albanians may be tall is due to that high intakes of dairy products and natural goods they eat. In kosovo dairy products are highly consumed, if you look at a cow (not a person but an actual cow) in Albania it looks half dead! Compared to te ones in Kosovo, in Kosovo most people don't buy fruits or vegs but rather grow them and eat them from there.

No it's not a confirmation... But personal observation is better then a self confirm a country makes about themselves.. I've been to Montengro more than 5 times and I don't remember seeing a lot of tall people there.. Living in London I've never met a Baltic person who was shorter then someone who was Slavic and short.

Right off the bat I can point out a potential flaw in your observation: how do you know the Baltic types you met in London represent the average for their nation? Not only that but perhaps you have a fondness for Baltic types. You may find the males in that group especially attractive and consequently add on inches to their height since height and attraction go together in many people's minds. There is an entire list of possibilities.

That's not to say you're wrong but that there is a possibility that your observation isn't accurate. Personally, I have no reason to disagree with you on it. I'm just pointing out it's not a done deal.

There are studies that are as close to accurate as humanely possible: recent military recruits. Not perfect but better than anything else out there. It gives an idea, at least.

Same point I made with justme without adding homoeroticism. You don't know if they're representative of the whole. There is also the question of standard of living allowing or not allowing someone to meet their full genetic potential, as I pointed out about the Dutch. The following generation may be taller than the locals on average.

Like I said, especially in the city I live in there are tons of Balkanites mainly from former Yugoslavia(minus Slovenia) and Albania.

As soon as someone says "tons" of something I don't pay much attention to their observation. May be accurate but words like that make me suspicious that they aren't.

on average, according to actual scientific data( not self reported), Montenegrins are 2nd tallest people in Europe and world just behind Dutch people.
there are of course regional differences. coastal Montenegrins are shorter than people from Northern Montenegro. that is why our army and special police units is mostly made of Northerners.
but anyway I don't want to enter in another dick measuring contest.

As I said, not perfect but better than anything else out there. I like data I can look through. Having someone tell me something is true or not is limited to just that person.
