Well... True... but many are blonde and their definition of "blonde" is a little different. I see that a lot in the large group picture are young anyways. MOST (and that is a LOT) of Scando kids are light haired... less so as adults. If there was a picture of them all grown up, it would be quite representative, I bet.

Besides, there are 4 slightly darker haired individuals in the picture: When the kids grow up, that number goes higher of course. Likely 6. Which... would be quite normal.

What do people think from looking at the pictures? Any differences / similarities with the populations?

Depends though, from what i've seen, with samples from northern France, most Brits are closer to Scandinavians and low German speakers and then to French, but the distance is not massive, and people of Brittany and probably some other more northern areas almost certainly overlap with us.

Edit: I'm very southern for a British person, and i'm about equidistant between northern Swedes and northern French.

There seems to be two basic types of Scandinavian faces - the more rounded type that can easily pass in Britain and then the Russian slanted-eye type. Let's bring some more science to the discussion:

IMO, the English one is slightly closer to the French one, but there really is not much in it - they are all distinct.

Judging by the faces that Alice posted, the Norwegians and Danes have considerable overlap with the British, but the Swedes less so (they seem to have more Baltid/East Nordid types).

British people look Intermediate. They have both Celtic and Germanic ancestry, so, some British people look like French people, other look like Scandinavians.

These are completely Celtic. They are both Irish.

    These are Scottish.

So all the pictures Whoop has used are from the Celtic countries. England is the most "Germanic" part of Britain and Ireland.

I've just looked back at the photos and they are definitely cherry picked. All the British and Irish ones were selected to pick the most dark haired ones. I've seen where some of the photos are picked from and the darkest have been selected whereas the Scandinavians have been selected to show the most blonds. Not that I think the Irish look Swedish just that there is a bias happening in the picture selection.

Yes there is a bias in your selection. The British and Irish do have dark hair but it's not the majority hair colour. In most group photos there is some dark, some lighter browns, some blonds and a redhead here and there. There are more blonds in Scandinavia but they have some dark hair as well. See photos above that Whoop posted of British Isles with photos of Irish and Scots. I do think that the British Isles are more like Northern French though.
