Actually, I guess I understand Florence isn't technically Northern Italy. On the other hand Florence is not Il Fame Sud
--- and maybe I am wrong, but I don't expect people from as far North as Florence to look like a descendant of Phoenician colonist. Actually, I know demographics of Italy changed a lot in past 70 years- but my point is for all the people posting pictures of Med. looking Northeners, without history of their family, it's kind of useless.

30% of southerners in the north?

    You are too optimistic

I'm repeating this from years but people here have short memory about it.

Florence is 35 kilometers far from "Northern Italy", the border with Emilia-Romagna.

Romagna, except the language, is historically more southener than Tuscany.

I know this map, it includes also the domestic migrations, from a province of the same region to another. It's based on surnames.

That's the lack of the North European component, which is higher in Greeks than in southern Italians actually, suggesting that ours was even lower prior to the Greek colonization.

Or Greek components have gotten higher!

Are there even any pure Mediterraneans in Greece today? I don't get that impression from TA..
