Grenfell Tower Fire Disaster, 14th June 2017



The Grenfell Tower fire broke out on 14 June 2017 in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block of flats in North Kensington, West London, United Kingdom. It caused 72 deaths, including two who later died in hospital. Over 70 others were injured and 223 people escaped.

It is the deadliest structural fire in the United Kingdom since the 1988 Piper Alpha disaster and the worst UK residential fire since the Second World War. The fire is under public inquiry, police investigations and coroner's inquests.

Emergency services received the first report of the fire at 00:54 local time. It burned for about 60 hours until finally being extinguished. More than 250 London Fire Brigade firefighters and 70 fire engines were involved from stations all across London in efforts to control the fire.

Over 100 London Ambulance Service crews on at least 20 ambulances attended, joined by the specialist Hazardous Area Response Team. The Metropolitan Police Service and London's Air Ambulance also assisted the rescue effort.

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry began on 14 September 2017 to investigate the causes of the fire, and other related issues. Police and fire services believe the fire was started by a malfunctioning fridge-freezer on the fourth floor. The rapid spread of the fire has been attributed to the building's exterior cladding, a type in widespread use. An independent review of building regulations and fire safety was published on 17 May 2018.

Tower blocks across the nation were checked and residents were temporarily evacuated from tower blocks and rehoused that had the same dangerous external cladding made by a US company as Grenfell did on the exterior of the building.

A witness said that she saw a woman try to save a baby by dropping it from a window "on the ninth or 10th floor" to waiting members of the public below.

David Copeland and the London Neo-Nazi Nail Bombings, May 1999





The 1999 London nail bombings were a series of bomb explosions in London, England, against the Black, South Asian, and gay communty areas.

Over three successive weekends between 17 and 30 April 1999, homemade nail bombs were detonated respectively in Brixton, south London; Brick Lane in the East End; and in The Admiral Duncan pub in Soho in the West End.

Each bomb contained a timer and up to 1,500 four-inch nails, in luggage holdalls that were left in public spaces.

The bombs killed three people, including a pregnant woman, and injured 140 people, four of whom lost limbs.

David Copeland was caught on London's numerous CCTV cameras and his image was shown all over the front of national UK newspapers.

His movements on CCTV were traced and UK detectives found him hiding in his home outside of London in southern England. There was a lot of Nazi flags on the walls of his home, literature on far-right groups and bomb-making, and an arsenal of nails and bomb-making equipment.

Copeland confessed in his recorded police interrogation interviews that he was planning to bomb a Jewish area of London next.




On 2 May 1999, the Metropolitan Police Anti-Terrorist Branch charged 22-year-old David Copeland with murder.

Copeland, who became known as the "London Nail Bomber", was a Neo-Nazi militant and a former member of two far-right political groups, the British National Party and then the National Socialist Movement.

The bombings were aimed at London's Black, South Asian and gay communities.

He was convicted of murder in 2000 and given six concurrent life sentences.

Massive Irish IRA Terrorist Bomb Explosion, Canary Wharf, London, 1996.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the Irish IRA frequently bombed towns and cities across England and Northern Ireland.

The IRA bombed and killed several members of the UK government during the 80's, bombed the UK's top media offices, bombed the Old Bailey (the UK's top crown court where IRA prisoners were due to be taken by the police,) planted explosive devices near the Prime Minister's residence of Downing Street in Westminster... and bombed, injured, maimed and killed politicians in the UK conservative government.

The IRA also nearly killed the UK Prime Minister (Thatcher) while lots of high-ranking government officials were staying at a hotel in Brighton for a government conference during the Brighton Hotel Bombing.

The IRA bombed one of London's financial districts, and the IRA murdered royalty too when a relative of the Queen - Lord Mountbatten and his relatives - were blown-up by the IRA whilst they were staying on holiday in their private castle home in Ireland. Lord Mountbatten and his children took a day out on a lake in their private boat. Radio-controlled explosive devices had been secretly attached to their private family boat by the IRA. The boat was blown apart into thousands of smalls pieces high into the air shortly after leaving the shore.

The Irish bombers didn't just murder innocent civilians and children, etc, but also targeted and struck at the U.K. government and politicians, media head offices, the financial district, royalty, etc.

Advertisements were frequently placed on public transport in London warning people to stay calm if they saw an unattended parcel or package or an unattended luggage bag left on a bus or train. The adverts warned the public to not approach, touch, or open an unattended luggage bag, to leave the area immediately, and to alert the public transport staff and the authorities.

ISIS Terrorist Attack, Westminster Bridge Attack, March 2017

On 22 March 2017, a terrorist attack took place outside the Palace of Westminster in London, seat of the British Parliament.

The attacker, 52-year-old Briton Khalid Masood, drove a car into pedestrians on the pavement along the south side of Westminster Bridge and Bridge Street, injuring more than 50 people, five of them fatally.





He then crashed the car into the perimeter fence of the Palace grounds and ran into New Palace Yard, where he fatally stabbed an unarmed police officer. He was then shot by an armed police officer and died at the scene.





Police treated the attack as "Islamist-related terrorism". Masood reportedly said in a final text message that he was waging jihad in revenge for Western military action in Muslim countries in the Middle East.


Amaq News Agency, which is linked to Islamic State, said the attacker answered the group's calls to target citizens of states that are fighting against it, though the claim was questioned by the UK police and government. Police have found no link with a terrorist organisation and believe Masood acted alone.

ISIS Terrorist London Bridge Attack, 3rd June 2017

On 3 June 2017, a terrorist attack involving vehicle-ramming and stabbing took place in London, England.



A van was deliberately driven into pedestrians on London Bridge before crashing on the south bank of the River Thames.

Its three occupants then ran to the nearby Borough Market area and began stabbing people in and around restaurants and pubs.



The attackers were Islamists inspired by Islamic State (ISIS).



They were shot dead by Metropolitan Police officers and were found to be wearing fake explosive vests.[9] Eight people were killed and 48 were injured, including four unarmed police officers who attempted to stop the assailants.

The attack happened almost three months after a similar vehicle-ramming and stabbing attack at Westminster Bridge in London.

ISIS Terrorist Attack On Teenagers Attending An Ariana Grande Music Concert In Manchester, May 2017

The Manchester Arena bombing was a suicide bombing attack in Manchester, United Kingdom, on 22 May 2017.






An Islamic terrorist detonated a shrapnel-laden homemade bomb as people were leaving Manchester Arena following a concert by the American singer Ariana Grande. The incident was treated as an act of terrorism.




Twenty-three people were killed, including the attacker, and 139 were wounded, more than half of them children.




Several hundred more suffered psychological trauma.





The bomber was Salman Ramadan Abedi, a 22-year-old local man of Libyan ancestry.




After initial suspicions of a terrorist network, police later said they believed Abedi had largely acted alone but that others had been aware of his plans.



The incident was the deadliest terrorist attack and the first suicide bombing in Britain since the July 2005 London bombings.

Glasgow Airport Attack, Scotland, 2007

The 2007 Glasgow Airport attack was a terrorist ramming attack which occurred on 30 June 2007, at 15:11 BST, when a dark green Jeep Cherokee loaded with propane canisters was driven at the glass doors of the Glasgow Airport terminal and set ablaze.

It was the first terrorist attack to take place in Scotland since the Lockerbie bombing in 1988.



The attack took place three days after the appointment of Scottish MP Gordon Brown as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, but Downing Street dismissed suggestions of a connection.



A close link was quickly established to the 2007 London car bombs the previous day. Although the doors were damaged, security bollards outside the entrance stopped the car from entering the terminal, where there were 4,000 people, with the potential for many fatalities.



The car's driver was severely burnt in the ensuing fire, and five members of the public were injured, none seriously. Some injuries were sustained by those assisting the police in detaining the occupants.

Both of the car's occupants were apprehended at the scene, and all those injured were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in nearby Paisley.




One of the terrorists (a medical doctor) was engulfed in flames and screamed out 'Allah' whilst he punched police officers who tried to extinguish the flames on him.

(He knew he'd be taken to a holding cell in West London's Paddington Police Station - where all UK terrorist suspects are taken to and held - and that he would soon be forced to confess to British Intelligence agents where his accomplices were hiding.)



Within three days, Scotland Yard (the UK police headquarters in London,) had confirmed that eight people across the UK had been taken into custody in connection with this incident and that in London.



Police identified the two men as Bilal Abdullah, a British-born, Muslim doctor of Iraqi descent working at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and Kafeel Ahmed, also known as Khalid Ahmed, an engineer and the driver, who was treated for fatal burns at the same hospital.



The newspaper The Australian alleged that a suicide note indicated that the two had intended to die in the attack.



Kafeel Ahmed died from his injuries on 2 August. Bilal Abdullah (a medical doctor) was later found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 32 years.
