Yes, I agree with this. In regards to who's lighter, I would say its pretty even. Northern Spaniards would be just about even with Northern Italians if we are talking about exposed skin. Southern Spaniards, at least exposed skin wise, would obviously be darker because of the greater amount of sunlight exposure.

From Livi and Coon about hair-eye colour, the skin type for Northen Italians is averege for Central Europe, while i just estimate the skin type distribution in Iberia (having met around 100-120 Spanish people).

I didn't realize what WASP America thinks (or I should say you assume thinks; other than 18th Ben Franklin I have never read a WASP opinion on it) is your standard for Whiteness. Hell, if you were Mexican but didn't look Mestizo they'd list you on the census as White back before Hispanic was added as an ethnic category.

These types of threads are embarrassing and makes Nordicists laugh ever so hard and rightfully so. Med forum posters have to deal with the consequences of some Meds with a homoerotic fetish for pasty pale skin. I don't get bent out of shape if someone says group X is lighter than Spaniards/Iberians because... *drum roll*... it doesn't matter. It has no effect on world affairs or views or anything.
