I am naming my daughter Petra, it was ancient city the capital of stony Arabia.

It doesn't sound Arabic at all. Peter means "stone" in Greek, Petra is just the feminine form of it.

True it was imported into Arabic. The city name was given by the Greeks and they referred to northwest Arabia as stony Arabia, it was the capital of the Arabian Nabateans.

For a daughter I would used Elizabeth. Great-Grandmother's first name is Erzsébet. Erzsébet is Hungarian for Elizabeth.
