    EXTREMADURA

    Caceres

    Badajoz

    CANARY ISLANDS

    Canary islands

    *I excluded provinces of Barcelona, Madrid and Balearic islands because the people there is too mixed to represent the local phenotypes.

    There seem to be only minor differences between Spaniards compared to the the Italians.

    I agree, except for the southern coast of Spain (more Med types, MINOR North African in some) and the Canary islands (North African influence).

    Looking at the photos of my threads, the area with the highest number of Med types are Huelva and especially Extremadura, not the southern coast.

    In the southern coast, except for the southwest, I don't see a higher number of Med types than in other regions of Spain.

    Looking at the Extremadura and Andalusia threads, I see this;

    1) Although a minority, they have the highest amount who can fit in the Canary Islands of any mainland Spaniards, and the most North African
    2) The highest number of people who can pass further east as generic "Med" types, in places like Sicily and Crete
    3) The fewest purely Atlantid types.

    Andalucia is wide (in fact, ethnically is not a single entity) and besides Huelva, I really don't see that the others provinces fit with your description. About the Canary islands, where settled mainly by Andalusians, so nothing surprising.

    Yes. That confirms my experience and impression. The lightest area should be Navarre and Aragon although the differences are very low, differences are close to nonexistent and the truth is that virtually any individual in each region would pass unnoticed in the other. Most cases are affected by the suggestion because the name of the area, types are most robust in the Cantabria--->Navarre zone(what is a bad thing for women btw), not all is about the pigmentation.

    Espada tengo. Lo demás, Dios lo remedie.

    In the west almost all Spain had been subjugated, except that part which adjoins the cliffs where the Pyrenees end and is washed by the nearer waters of the ocean. Here two powerful nations, the Cantabrians and the Asturians, lived in freedom from the rule of Rome.")
