"American accent" IS a dialect of English within itself. Up North it just evolved more general and "monotone" due to the wave of immigrants we received. In essence our English is more homogeneous than British English. There are but a few distinctions in how we speak it across the country. Usually limited to small pockets of the US in areas that have remained the same for years as displayed in the people you posted.
Though we speak very clearly it kind of sucks though. Goddamn immigrants...... ruined our chances of having Aussie accents.
