bumping this thread up with my stereotypical notes on countries
England = Football, fish and chips, London is a great city, chavs, breakfast the only decent cuisine around there, lot of the women are mingers, low class Brits getting wasted and terrorizing holiday spots,"no sex please" high class Brits, place where dialects and classes go together, great comedy, friendly people.
Ireland
Strange accent, immigration to America, heavy drinkers, beer, potatoes, similarity to Finnish mentality, beautiful landscapes, Roy Keane, St.Patrick's day and green color, Conan O'Brien, leprechauns.
Iceland
Geysirs, economic crisis, small country, 2 polar bears who swam there from north and got shot, some kind of arctic horses, beautiful nature, fish.
Norway
Fish, crazy prices, unfortunately the Utoya incident, most similar country to Finland in the world probably, oil money, cross country skiing, Lillehammer, Espen Knutsen, Ole Gunnar Soskjaer, Egil "Drillo" Olsen.
Sweden
Big brother of Finland, metrosexuals, snus, stunning women, many men kinda feminine, Finnish immigration, very much like Finland, some swedes think they are better than Finns for no reason, ice hockey rivalry - we win, invented floorball only to get beaten in it by us, does not fight wars, clearly better in football and makes me jealous, Zlatan, Volvo, Stockholm ferry terminal, Gamlastan, Fishing in Gotland
Finland
Best country in the world, great nature. I wish the people would open a bit more and not be as reserved, going to a better direction as we speak. But not too much change please, we still want to be Finns..
Portugal
CR7, diving oriented football, Figo, nice cities and nice people, Porto & Algarve which I've visited, Brazil, fado music, conquerors.
Spain
Wondeful city of Barcelona, tapas, football, nobody speaks English, Spanish exchange students in Helsinki (there's a lot!), Canary islands, Almodovar
France
Lived there: Grenoble, ESC, Alps, nice but hard language, wine, maghreb people, Zidane, lots of arrogant people, they don't know the difference between Sweden and Finland, Paris, Eiffel tower, great food, sexually liberated women
Denmark
Swedish spoken like you are throwing up, flat country, Bornholm, almost like Germany and not that similar anymore to Finland, Gus Hansen
Luxembourg
Villeroy-Boch, rich people, why is it a country?
Belgium
Women are not very goodlooking, EU, Manneken-pis, no national unity between Walloons and Flemish,Oostende,2 week French course I took there in 2002 and cute teacher Shirley
Holland
Tall people, weed, prostitution, wind mills, football, nice and friendly people, horrible sounding language, Jari Litmanen and Ajax, nice women
Germany
Football again, WWII, beer, the company I work for, nice people but amusingly "by-the-book" with not a lot of creativity, great cars - BMW, sympathetic towards Finns, Oktoberfest
Switzerland
Watches, chocolate, "neutral" in order to hide everybody's money and take interest incl. the nazis, many too proud and posh people (personal experience), many languages, skiing, lago di Lugano (I was there)
Italy
Beautiful country, great food, Ferrari, I like their football, North - South difference, beautiful language, Milan fashion, men live at their parents until 40, women are hot when young but turn into hairy ugly mamma's quite early, Sivio Berlusconi=corruption=mafia, many Guidos
Malta
beautiful island, poker, no idea really what it is like
Poland
heavy drinkers, hard workers, Lech Walesa, nice women, devout catholics, grey Warsaw (never been but it has an image of being dull and grey)
Austria
Beautiful Vienna, classical music, basically same as Germany pretty much?
Czech Republic
Ice hockey, Jagr and Hasek, many men have the mullet (at least in hockey), beautiful women, beautiful Prague, cheap beer, a mix between germanic and slavic cultures
Hungary
language kinship, great city of Budapest, beautiful women
Slovakia
Same as Czech Rep. I assume but poorer
Slovenia
What kind of name is Ljubljana for a city?, heard it's a nice place with beautiful women, quite wealthy compared to its neigbours.
Croatia
Beautiful place for sailing, beautiful archipelago, beautiful tall women, Dubrovnik is wonderful, locals did not like tourists
Bosnia and Herzergovina
No idea, same as all Balkan i assume, muslims
Serbia
Wars and scary nationalists, beautiful tall women, no idea really how the place is
Montenegro
no idea really, but I think thaksin shinawatra has montenegro passport now too
Kosovo
Perparim Hetamaj and Shefki Kuqi - great players in Finnish football team, especially Shefki who is a legend and more Finnish than Finns theirselves - hardworker who only talks when necessary. Based on Shefki I have to assume Kosovo is a good place with great people. In general the Kosovo immigrants have represented their country positively.
Macedonia
No idea about mdoern day Macedonia - somekind of greek-serbian mix?
Greece
Great culture and amazing history, Ouzo, Zorbas, cheesy men hitting on tourist women, nice places to visit, economic crisis and not trustworthy
Bulgaria
Goodlooking women but also weightlifting hairy ugly-ass women, Sunny Beach -> big wealth gap; flashy Mercedes's and many people in povert
Romania
Dracula, lots of gypsies flooding to Europe, Ceausescu time, great football mastermind Hagi
Estonia
Little brothers, lots of Estonians in Finland, beautiful women, Russian minority, unfortunately they dislike Finns often, customer service non-existant (still a fossil from Soviet times)
Latvia
Ice hockey; Irbe, Riga, lots of crime in Riga, don't really know what's it like
Lithuania
No idea, somekind of baltic-polish mix I assume, basketball
Belarus
some kind of European North-Korea, no idea whatsoever
Ukraine
Big country by all metrics but very unknown to me, not sure what is the difference to Russians, I think they probably have hot women and ugly men (this is the case in many slavic countries)
Russia
WWII, vodka, communism, newly rich people with horrible taste in fashion, beautiful women but ugly-ass men (and often rich old man with young wife), St.Petersburg is a nice city, a country where nobody cares about others and everything which is shared can rot, prostitutes coming to Finland, macho culture, customer service is horrible if you don't buy something expensive, people are only nice when you get to know them first.
