Really? What do you think will happen if/when Trump does not fulfill (because he cannot) his promises to his constituents? American populism was never 'left leaning'...this is it...Trump becoming president is the natural, inevitable culmination of the American 'hustler ethos'. From the 'virtue of prosperity Televangicals, to the 'make it rain' Rap videos...Trump is the epitome of this Ethos. They cannot fool themselves calling him a secret Muslim socialist in the dinner table if/when he fails the promises he's made to his voters dont come through?

If another bubble bursts and Trump has no answer but bailing out Wall street gamblers and speculators with money that could have built hospitals, highways, funded research, schools, etc. What do you think will happen to his voters? Unless the sole purpose for the formation of the Tea party was to agitate Obama, then perhaps nothing

Anyways, while Trump's presidency has created a record amount of discord and division in the country, as I knew it would, because of his personality and worldview. The reality is that most people are still going about their lives. On the other hand, Trump doesn't seem that interested in getting involved with any major wars or regime change, that was what was really destroying America, all the costly wars, Iraq cost $6 trillion dollars.

Anyways, Steve Bannon can try to live out his civil war fantasies all he wants. But when it starts affecting the bottom line of every day people who are just trying to pay their bills, he will get shut down fast, maybe not by Trump's core supporters but the vast majority of Americans who aren't very political. He'd probably get shut down fast even within Trump's own administration by people like Mattis or Tillerson.

How strong are America's institutions though? Judicial is fucked up...Education declined, Healthcare, infrastructure, religious institutions, the American family etc etc

America destroyed its cultures/institutions....back in the day, there were many cultures and institutions. There were two main 'cultures'. Northern Yankee aggressive hustle-bustle...vs Southern agrarian, Christian, laid back, honor based. Both shared a contempt and hate for outsiders/foreigners. When the North defeated the South...the Hustler defeated the "Gentleman", and America has been built on a hustler (and getting on top and making the most Dollars) mindset and this process culminated in the election of Trump.

Most people are apolitical, but revolutions happen when people still continue getting bills due when their income stopped.

I think Steve Bannon is the most brilliant man in Trump's adminisrration...but his influence will be America's death knell

America isn't going anywhere, but I see China(and possibly Russia if they play their cards right) surpassing America in overall influence around the world.
