    Default Superstitions in your culture

I grew up in German culture...

IF YOU SANG AT THE DINNER TABLE YOU WILL MARRY A STUPID MAN

IF YOU WALK THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE'S SWEEPINGS YOU PARTNER WILL CHEAT ON YOU

ON NEW YEARS EVE ALL WASHING MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE LINE BECAUSE YOU DON'T GO INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH LAST YEAR'S OLD CLOTHING

    What are yours?

It's not really superstition but just a tradition...probably based on some really old superstition though

where on new year's eve you have to eat some black-eyed peas for good luck the coming year

and on thanksgiving there is the wishbone thing, where you and someone else pull it apart and both make a secret wish as you pull at it. whoever gets the larger piece gets their wish.

and this isnt a cultural thing here at all, but my grandmother, long ago, went to a funeral of a friend of her's who was Jewish and they covered all the mirrors in the funeral home. I've heard of that also, and from other cultures or religions as well.

.....and of course, never wear white after Labor day, LOL!

If you flip someone's photo upside down, they'll get a headache.
