Memo to self-haters: there is NOTHING WRONG with darker features

This is principally aimed at

(1) Hysterical Southern Europeans such as alnortedelsur, Nordopelli, Anthropologique etc, who get angry when people post darker members of their ethnicities and deny, or at least seek to minimise, the significant number of people in said ethnicities who look like that.

(2) OWD MENAs, Latin Americans and South Asians, who can be quite racist towards those within their own ethnicities with darker skin and thicker features.

It must be said that, in this forum at least, there are rather more members of Group One than Group Two. Why should people who look like Nunzia De Girolamo be seen as inherently inferior to people who look like the late Anna Lindh?

the problem is most want to look most european, the darker skin.. less euro you look. so when you post dark people they get mad because it makes their ethnicity less euro looking i guess

Yes well such complexes are preposterous. People should accept that every ethnicity has a variety of looks - some darker than others.

It is also funny when e.g. Syrians get upset when they are told that most of them cannot pass in Italy, or indeed Italians get upset when they are told that most of them cannot pass in Sweden, when the reverse doesn't cause anything like the same anguish: when do Swedes complain about not being able to pass in Italy, given that most wouldn't, or Italians complain about not being able to pass in Syria, given that most wouldn't.
