Man Quits Job Over Water Fluoride

After 15 years loyal service with Fitzroy River Water, Graham Demeny says his career is down the gurgler because of fluoride and an uncompromising council.
Graham, who was responsible for making Rockhampton’s drinking water safe, resigned earlier this month after his request for a transfer within Rockhampton Regional Council was refused.

He said he questioned the safety of adding fluoride to the city’s water supply and ethically wasn’t prepared to do the job.

From today fluoride will be added to drinking water in Rockhampton, The Caves and Gracemere.

Protesters, including councillor Glenda Mather, will rally against the situation this morning outside City Hall.

I agree with him and I think he did the right thing. Adding fluoride to water is a no no here too and was actually banned as early as 1973 by the Dutch Supreme Court .

The cry baby should just bring bottled water if he's that concerned. If I was the boss I wouldn't be very impressed with this melodramatic muppet and I'm sure the job centres / dole office wouldn't be either.
What's he going to do if the water companies in his area start using fluoride in the water? Capture rainwater? Then he'll just start complaining about the PH and the frickin' residue it picks up when it runs off the roof.

Wrong. He was working for the water company and it was his job to ensure a steady supply of safe tap water to the general public and he acted according to his professional morality.

I didn't read the article. Yes, I suppose in that case he's done what he thinks is right. Fluoride isn't widely used here, but occasionally it's added to toothpaste.
