There is a guy on ABF (omm 'e m.e.r.da) who will point out various Sicilian songs sounding Spanish, Jewish, French but you have to really fight to get him to acknowledge any Greek influences. It's annoying.

I don't know about this particular song though. My mom thinks it sounds Jewish.

    To me Spanish.
Dipthongs in Greek have a distinctive sound. Those are absent in Romance languages like Italian and Spanish.

The 3/4 time is throwing me a bit. Still sounds more Italian to me, maybe more Northern because of the slight Waltz feel.

Language-wise of course Sicilian is closer to Spanish, both are Romance languages.
I meant the song itself.. style, instruments, etc.

If you just heard the song and it didn't have any lyrics, would you be more likely to think it was Spanish, Yiddish/Ashkenazi, or Greek?

    Yiddish/Greek, not Iberian.
