From my experience, they are usually a bit lighter than Indians, though they are pretty much the same range of skin colors as Indians from very pale to very dark. But on average, a bit lighter than the average Indian probably. But not that it really matters all that much.

Saludong, not sure if you've ever been to California, but there's plenty of Filipinos here who are friends with Latinos, other Asians, so forth. Don't be so down man. It all depends on the individual.

I understand your mentality, but there is nothing you can do about whether others would accept you or not. Just focus on your own uniqueness and developing your country. If the Philippines can get its act together and become some powerful nation state, others will go out of their way to be associated with you. That's how human psychology works man.

I don't have any issue with Filipino people, but I don't like his way of forcefully blending himself into Latin American affairs, or expecting us to be interested in his stuff, or know what's up down there.

I also don't fully understand his mentality. He seems to not be truly interested in Latin American matters other than forcefully including himself into the grouping.

Yeah, I agree his approach is very strange and it's probably the main reason why the Latino members have reacted this way, primarily out of irritation.

I think if he came in without his own clear cut agenda, and spoke about Latino issues/culture with knowledge and also mentioned he is Filipino, and occassionally bring up similarities between the two, he would've gotten a much better reception.

What? It was teh latinos who first forced me to become combative when they said in the first topic i went here, the one which Clete posted "Only 3.6% of Filipnos have European blood myth"


I witnessed pages and pages full of denigrating comments about Filipinos ranging from being slaves, maids and blasians (Most of which, the hurtful comments came from members of Latino ancestry).

There wasn't even a reception, from square one, it was nothing but blanket condemnation.
