What a statesman! Russia needed him. And Western politicians can learn a lot from him.

I think this analysis is accurate. I do not consider Putin a moral person, nor do I consider him evil or significantly more immoral than other political leaders (though he certainly has more personal power than most other national leaders).
I admire Putin because I admire competent, intelligent and capable individuals who come from humble beginnings to carve something in this world out for themselves. I consider Putin an individual of EXTRAORDINARY competence and intelligence, who is a deep thinker and brilliant strategist. I also consider him to possess several very desirable masculine qualities such as courage, daring, and the willingness to take risks. I greatly admire his ability to rise from humble origins to a position of great stature due to his own capabilities, and that is something I greatly identify with personally.
Due to these traits, I have a very high opinion of Putin as an individual although I will concede that his moves are opportunistic and can result in the victimization of those on the losing end.
