I don't support IRA bombings and execution of opponents or civilians, but I support their goal of an united Ireland. And that's not only the Catholic side speaking in me, but common sense.

What I hate, though, is the repeated provocation created by Protestant Unionists who run across Catholic streets and quarters in Belfast and elsewhere and proclaim their assumed greatness once or twice a year. That's unneeded.

That you can't divide an island of strongly related people when a majority wants to live in one, united country. There're not less people in Northern Ireland who think the same. The conflict is very old, and there was bloodshed as far back as in the 19th century. Great Britain led a brutal, arrogant warfare against the uprising of civilians over and over again. It was unfair and still is. Sinn Fein and IRA are products of oppression, a reaction. I don't adcovate their horrendous terror acts of the past (70's, 80's and so on), but their reasoning isn't that far-fetched.

But there are less people who think the same, that's the whole point. The majority in the North wants to be British. How are you not aware of this?

my mother is essentially your own mix in opposite proportions if her words are true. doesn't bother me. the two girlfriends who treated me the best were a castiza and a ... whatever you call someone with one castiza and one criollo parent.
