There are some Scandinavians living for example here.

    They manage pretty well....

But Scandinavians are not pastoral people ... like most of Artic people still are (if not all of them). That is the biggest issue (Siberia).

One of my favorite things about summer is how good it feels to come inside and relax after being out in the sun all day. It's actually like a physical pleasure for me.

sometimes I feel like I'd rather die then go outside when it's above a temperature of like 80 and maybe even a bit lower

I am from Turkey and grew up in northern Sweden. I can barely survive at 20c, with the sun out I just stay indoors, if I have to go outside a hat is necessary and I walk wherever I can find shade. My step-dad however, who is swedish loves the sun & heat. He likes when it's 30c+ and sits in the sun all day...
So I guess it depends on the person.

Just read through this thread again. Guess I'm eating my words now

We lived in Anchorage for one year before buying the house we currently live in. It's about an hour north of Anchorage. Overall, Alaska still suits me better than the lower 48 from a climatological perspective, but we are literally on the front lines for climate change. As I'm typing this, we have been gripped by the worse heatwave I've ever experienced since our move to Alaska in Summer 2015. I kinda feel like I'm dying a little more inside with each passing day. We've been in the 80s all week and have also registered a few 90+ degree temps. This is unheard of around here.

It's almost as if we never left the lower 48. Sigh.

The weather here is good compared to many other nations that have frequent tornadoes, fire tornadoes, frequent hurricanes, tsunamis, extreme cold and extreme heat of over 45C, etc,.... and people think that sunny weather is 'good weather'... pff. Australia has huge bush fires each year - and that's what I call a result of having truly bad weather. People around the world say the Australian weather is 'good' and the British weather is 'bad' - but I think it's the other way around.

The winters here aren't too bad and are mostly mild... the rain is soothing and romantic and it keeps our trees and grass nice and lush and green. I also love a nice cool northernly breeze, especially during a warm day.

When it's sunny outside, I like to close my curtains and block out the sun if I'm indoors as I can't stand the hellish sun. I'm rather like a vampiress.

The heat makes me feel weary and irritable with poor concentration, but cool weather and rain makes me feel alert, happy, energetic, etc. I much prefer the elegance of silver-grey skies full of rain clouds, to glaring bright blue skies and bright sunlight which causes my eyes to water.

I hate going outside when it's sunny as I'm heliophobic and intolerant to the sun... but whenever it rains, I can't wait to go outside and feel the rain on my skin... it's soothing and sensual and blissful. I wear my waterproof coat and wellies and enjoy splashing in the puddles.

People often say to me when it's sunny, 'Oh what a beautiful day it is today...' and I'm silently thinking, hell no. (Pollen, hayfever, etc.) When it pours with rain here people often say, 'what awful weather outside...' but I'm smiling and loving it. My favourite seasons are late Autumn and Winter.
You sound just like me. I think my hatred of the sun rivals yours

The climate change hits the hardest the higher latitudes, especially the Arctic & Europe. This is where the average temperatures grow the fastest.

If person would be extremely well adapted against cold weather...

    * He/she should have very small earlobes ... maybe also bit thicker ones vs normal (more blood lines and meat/fat around) and located very close to his/her head.

    * He/she should have very short fingers & toes.

    * He/she should have very small/short nose.

Small size (like all artic people are) ''helps'' ... as they'll need less food (and food can be limiting factor in those areas) ... but small size alone does not help against cold.

Some says that Asians' epicanthic folds would protect eyes against cold ... but honestly eyes are not first thing you'll risk to freeze in cold weather. They are those I listed above.

No such thing as cold adaptation exists.
