Yeah, even though they only wrote about him 30 years after his death. Not the accurate way to describe someone's life, but he still existed as there are four gospels and epistles written about him (yes, the source is new testament, but why would a bunch of people from different time periods write about him, even in the same book?). Don't forget the gnostic books and other gospels that were left out like the gospel of thomas (which is a nice read tbh). So he had to exist. You can't just create a legend out of thin air. Obviously people saw him and knew of him, and later wrote about him, and "amplified" him if you will. Not to mention Josephus and Tacitus, actual historic figures who spoke of Jesus.

The 'christ myth theory' fails because why would folks create a prophet who gets killed/crucified? If I wanna invent a supreme being I'd make him ride up to heaven at the end or at least disappear, not get killed in the worst way ever. That sort of contradicts the idea of a powerful divine figure, right? Also, the amount of people mentioning jesus has to make him a real person.

I never doubt Jesus Christ existed as a man, but not as God, to speak my true mind, he is a god not God. The Absolute One/TAO will never appear in any individual form. He had to do with revisionism inside the jewish cults which had been rip offs from the Egyptian religion. I will never submit to any obvious performance of wonders as my principle of eastern asceticism, Jesus would not convince me by raising dead people into a new life as a TAO，but he represents the miracle himself, a human miracle which can be a good model for people to follow and study. Western philosophies have been inspired by Christian theology as much as Aristotlean ethics and metaphysics, the two schools of philosophies wonderfully complement each other. To study Jesus Christ rather than blindly worship, I only worship TAO, but revere Jesus as a human miracle.
