Genetics does not show that to be the case. Some Ossetians are indeed mixed with Russians. They can't be immigrants, but rather just local North Caucasians who admixed with Iranic Alanic and Kipchak tribes. They are also not much different from the Circassian or even Chechens that around them genetically speaking.

Any prove. The Ossetians seem to cluster with Balkars genetically, but Circassians are not that much different from them either. With Chechens it could be due to geographical position. Ossetians and Balkars are basically just Native Caucasians who went through language shift, never mind that both claim Alanic ancestry which does indicate a common ancestry.
