We all know the proudest possession of the Spanish Empire was the city of Ámberes.

    It's not my term.

King Phillip of Spain was the uncle of King Sebastian who died heirless, so he thought he had a claim to the throne. Even some of the portuguese nobility supported his claim.
The battles you call were against a shattered kingdom that had no king.

So Phillip eventually got to be the ruler of Portugal and annexed its colonies too. But those colonies were not spanish conquests, they just became annexed during this mess up that lasted for a few decades.

Just tell me how brazil was spanish.

Because for what I know the Portuguese colonized brazil initially, not the Spanish. The spanish colonized metal rich areas like andes and some parts of central america/mexico. They avoided Brazilian jungles.

And then the church divided up the territory anyways so that brazil was portugal anyways

    Treaty of Tordesillas
Spain conquered Portugal and its colonies, little ignorant. That is why Brazil belonged Spain.
Here you have Spaniards defeating Dutch to recover the Brazilian city of Bahía

Here another defeat on Dutch in Brazil too

Here it finish my lessons of history. As I said, I will not waste my time with you anymore. You are too analphabet to discuss with me, sorry.

Amberes was a very important city in that time but the proudest possesion of the Spanish empire was Cuba. The jewel of the crown.

It is what happens in the conquests here and there. Always a part of the "conquered" people supports the invaders.
And Portuguese did have a king, the Prior de Crato. We have discussed this many times.

It is what happened in many empires, not all were conquest and deads. Marriages etc also work

What conquest? We were never conquered, we're one of the few nations worldwide that was never military conquered since our foundation, unlike Spain who became a Napoleonic satellite by military force. The "conquest" you're talking about was nothing more than a diplomatic crisis and what happened was that Philip II of Spain took the crown of Portugal in 1581 after Henry died without an heir. Simple as that. Our colonies were under the Spanish crown during 60 years but that's all, Spanish crown left no impact on them and Portugal as a region was nearly completely autonomous.

If you want to read about real military conquests and not diplomatic affairs I recommend you a nice historical conquest, the day that the Portuguese army occupied Madrid

The Roman Empire is still the best one, hands down.

The Latins were a superior race.

Part of the dutch Portuguese war?
It was in the Iberian Union so yea spanish troops were sent to keep the dutch out. But Brazil was administered by the portuguese. Not Spain. All spain did was keep the dutch out. Not proof the spanish was the core of brazil or that they were the ones that colonized it.
It says the fleet was spanish Portuguese btw. Not spanish only.

The Iberian campaign was a nightmare for the French. A population who loves their country and was willing to fight for it and an influential Catholic Church. Supply lines disappearing left and right made it impossible for them.
