Applying physical anthropology to fiction... Am I the only one?

Because I am such a nerd (and dork), I apply my passion for physical anthropology to fiction. I make fictional people who inhabit fictional places, and make linguistic and genetic connections. I even throw in Apricity jokes (as far as certain looks these people have) for fun at times. LOL. I also throw in somewhat racist themes, but only as a joke, not 100% serious. For instance, me and my cousin created a nation called Munpai, derived from Moonpie, which is a society based off of African Americans. . LOL! I know, I am terrible.

I can show some of these ideas, lol.

J. R. R. Tolkien and all those who came after him. Altought he did it in a more "religious" way. I've done it, too, but in a more crude way, like inventing differents planets and imagining the evolution of the dominant species and its races that would have different characteristics, logically, to fit their needs, culture, societies, etc. I'm kinda of a nerd, too.
